Jordan Lane-Robb pleaded guilty to drug supply in Tamworth District Court but the court heard his current medical conditions could make prison more onerous.

Lane-Robb was left wheelchair-bound after a 2014 bullriding accident.

“Obviously there will be a significant amount of medical material ... put before me detailing his disability and current conditions,” Judge Jeffery McLennan said.

“How onerous custody will be for someone such as your client with disabilities.”

Lane-Robb admitted to supplying 56g of methylamphetamine between June 6 and July 4, last year, as well as 28g of methylamphetamine between August 24 and 30, last year, in East Tamworth.

And when asked whether he supplied 56g of methylamphetamine in Upper Street between September 9 and the following day, last year, Lane-Robb replied: “Guilty”.

Solicitor Yvonne Phillipos asked for her client to be assessed for an intensive corrections order – a jail sentence in the community – or home detention.

Judge McLennan warned Lane-Robb he was looking at a stint behind bars unless there was exceptional circumstances.

“[He] supplied a total of five ounces of methylamphetamine," he said.

“[You] can appreciate just on that amount alone, the court would be looking to a term of imprisonment."

Judge McLennan ordered the pre-sentence assessments and adjourned the case to January for sentencing.

“His bail is continued,” he said.

Lane-Robb was first arrested in September, 2017, after handing himself into detectives in Tamworth. His unit was raided in coordinated police search warrants earlier that month.

He was charged with commercial drug supply and was facing a maximum of 20 years behind bars before some of the offences were withdrawn in court.

He was one of several men charged by Strike Force Delaney – a secret operation set-up to target drug supply in the rodeo circles and across the Tamworth area. 

Several of the men remain before the court.
