Lots of new books have been added to the library’s shelves this week.
Among the new titles are Lynda La Plante’s latest thriller Murder Mile - “chaos on the street. A killer on the loose. Could her darkest fears be true?” This book is a Jane Tennison thriller set in London in 1979.
The Honourable Thief by Australian author Meaghan Anastasoios “introducing archaeologist Benedict Hitchens on his quest for redemption…” is an “action-packed tale on honour, passion, heroes and thieves across an epic background of history”.
Australian novel The Missing Pieces of Sophie McCarthy by B. M. Carroll will suit readers who enjoy Jodi Picoult, as it is written in a similar style with different narrators carrying the story forward.
Because they are short stories, you don’t have the commitment to finish the whole book.
If you tell yourself you don’t have enough time to read, try Flight or Fright: 17 Turbulent Tales edited by Stephen King and Bev Vincent. The book contains stories by such masters as Arthur Conan Doyle, Ray Bradbury and Roald Dahl. Because they are short stories, you don’t have the commitment to finish the whole book.
It is only one of many volumes of short stories that you can borrow if you wish.
If you can’t come to the library at all due to home, work or business pressures, there is no need for you to miss out on reading; you can join the library’s Shopbound or Housebound service. Just tell the staff how many books or talking books you require and your favourite authors or genres.
We will select the books for you and deliver them to your house or place of business. Phone 6740 2190 for more details.
People who prefer to access reading materials on their devices are also catered for with our RBdigital library service, which can send eBooks, eMagazines and audio books to your laptop, computer or the device of your choice. You will need a library card to register, so if you haven’t already registered, just pop into the library and join up.
See you soon at the library!
