And on Sunday, the Gunnedah vet will line up for Tamworth at the over-60 state championships at Maitland.
He played in the victorious division-four NSW team at the nationals in Canberra in 2017.
Amos described the sport as “good fun”, although he said it could be “a bit hard on the body”.
“And it actually provides a bit of incentive to try and get a bit fitter,” he said. “Because we can crash and burn.
“We can play a game all right. But when you turn up for the next one, it’s not so good. And the third one, you can’t move.”
Tamworth are in division one at the state championship, which will test the fitness of the players – with games scheduled for Sunday and Monday, Wednesday and Thursday (finals).
