NSW Police believe a prisoner on the run may be making his way towards Gunnedah.
The public has been told to be on the lookout for 41-year-old Robert Grover who escaped a minimum-security correctional facility in Muswellbrook earlier today.
Hunter Valley Police District officers were alerted Grover had escaped the facility on St Heliers Road around 6am on Wednesday.
Police began searching for Grover immediately following the reports and believe he may be heading toward the Gunnedah region.

Grover is described as being about 170cm tall, medium build, has brown hair and Caucasian appearance.
Police are warning the public not to approach the 41-year-old.
Anyone who believes they see Grover is instructed to contact police by calling 000 as soon as possible.
