Readers can sign up and pay at www.nvi.com.au from Tuesday.
Subscribers will get all of the local news, sport and community information from Gunnedah produced by Namoi Valley Independent’s journalists, plus the latest in national news, sport and lifestyle advice, for only $2.00 a week.
The first 30 days of website access is free for subscribers, who can choose to pay monthly or take out an annual subscription with a 20 per cent discount.
Subscriptions include access to the digital print edition of Namoi Valley Independent, an interactive digital reproduction of the newspaper that allows every page of the paper to be read on an internet-connected tablet or desktop.
The digital print edition will be available to subscribers at the homepage of www.nvi.com.au.
The printed version of Namoi Valley Independent will continue to be published and distributed Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Visitors to www.nvi.com.au from Tuesday will be able to read five articles a month for free before they are invited to subscribe for unlimited website access.
Non-subscribers coming directly to www.nvi.com.au or from a search engine or social media, will see a meter displayed at the bottom of the article they are reading.
The meter will show the number of articles they have read in the past month.
Some website content will remain open to all visitors, including classified advertisements, such as birth and funeral notices, and recommended articles featuring local businesses and sponsored content.
Website visitors can also sign up to have a free newsletter emailed regularly to their inbox, making it easier to browse the latest headlines and see what’s making news in Gunnedah.
