Last week the theme for Crafty Creations at the Gunnedah Shire Library School Holiday Program was dragons, and this week it is cats.

Children can come along and construct their own cats on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons from 3.30pm to 4.30pm.
They can also add to the enormous dragon going up along the side wall of the library by decorating paper plate scales.
Call the library for to reserve your spot on 6740 2190. There’s also a small charge of $3 per child.
Youngsters up to seven years can come along to Toddler Time in the mornings from 10.30am to 11am.
They will enjoy some cat stories and can make a simple handicraft to take home with them.
No bookings are required for the free morning sessions. Come along and enjoy.
For beginner readers, there is Judith’s Kerr’s delightful The Tiger who Came to Tea or, if you are IT-minded, you can settle down with coding projects with Scratch Made Easy.

Plenty of new books have been added to the shelves this week.
There are some new titles for children, including books by popular author Tony Wilson in The Selwood Boys series, and Matt Stanton’s Funny Kid series.
For beginner readers, there is Judith’s Kerr’s delightful The Tiger who Came to Tea or, if you are IT-minded, you can settle down with coding projects with Scratch Made Easy.
Books for adults include William McInnes, “one of Australian’s best-known storytellers”, latest book Fatherhood Stories about Being a Dad, Emma Adams’ Unbreakable Threads: The true story of an Australian mother, a refugee boy and what it really means to be a family, and Mind Behind Crime: What makes Australia’s worst killers tick by Dr Helen McGrath and Cheryl Critchley.
Readers of fiction will enjoy The Helpline, “a sharp, witty, big-hearted comedy from a hilarious new Australian writer”, the new mystery by James Patterson Juror No. 3, or “a darkly hilarious novel … It’s fiction, but not far from the truth”, How to be Perfect by Holly Wainwright.
