Gunnedah Fire and Rescue crews were called to a car fire on Jaeger Avenue at 8pm on Saturday to find a silver sedan engulfed with flames.
Firefighters wore breathing apparatus while containing the fire and were able to save the car from being completely destroyed.
Police were at the scene and are investigating the circumstances into the cause of the fire.
Saturday’s incident comes at the end of a busy week for Gunnedah Fire and Rescue crews which saw them attend several call outs.
The first incident saw crews attend an truck accident near Gunnedah on Wednesday.
Crews were called to the scene at 7.19pm on Wednesday after reports a truck had collided with a horse.
Police, SES and ambulance crews attended the scene.
The horse unfortunately did not survive the accident.
