Gunnedah Garden Club will be busy in the months ahead.
On the agenda in September’s meeting was the upcoming Christmas luncheon and the 2018 Spring Rose Show.
The rose show will be on October 19-20 in the Smithurst Theatre and the Christmas luncheon will be held in the Lions Hall on November 26.
The raffle winners this month were Marge Hill and Hilda Morris. In the flower competition, Margaret Abra placed first, Ann Laird placed second and Esma Gardner placed third. Faye Byrne placed first in vegetables, Marge Hill placed second and Julia Withers placed third.
After lunch at the meeting, members were invited to see five gardens tended by Joy Pearson, Ann Penrose, Julia Withers, Helen Murrell and Esma Gardner who then supplied afternoon tea to all. Everyone agreed it was a great afternoon.
The Presbyterian Flower show and the Anglican Fete were well attended by the garden club members.
The 2019 calendars will be available at the next meeting and these are a good gift for a last-minute Christmas present.
The hostess for the November meeting on October 22 will be Hilda Morris, and Ann Laird will supply the raffle. Marie Hobson will be the guest speaker and will share stories from her recent holiday to Ireland.
