Run by the Boggabri Business and Community Progress Association, the event featured 50 stalls, kids activities, a demonstration by the SES, fashion parade and a “Rainmaker” Dance Boss competition.
Association member Donna Turner said “it was a beautiful day” and stall holders came from Narrabri, Tamworth, Gunnedah and Boggabri.
“Numbers were up on last year,” she said.
“All the feedback from stall holders and visitors I spoke to have all been positive.
“We had a great response to the SES display, the fashion parade and the Rainmaker Dance Boss competition. We’re not sure if the rain today is the result of it.”
Artists Tammey McAllan and Lorraine Maddigan donated a painting each to Ooranga Boggabri Preschool, which were auctioned off in The Art Shed and raised $150. A new exhibition also went on display, with six collaborative works by six artists from Boggabri and Gunnedah.
Any other funds raised at the event will go to drought-stricken farmers.
