St Mary's bake up a storm for Gunnedah's farmers

Food technology students have been baking for a good cause.

Year 9, 10 and 11 students at St Mary’s College have been using their lessons to make biscuits and slices, which are then delivered to Gordon and Barry Co where a corner has been set up with sweets and hot drinks for rural customers. There are even packaged treats to take home.

It’s a bid to give farmers a repast from the drought when they come into town and has been in place for a month.

Food technology teacher Monique Hannaford said Sister Christine Belling was behind the idea and it was a small “gesture” to support farmers.
