Boggabri kids have been testing their riding, speaking and building skills this fortnight.
Boggabri Public School students from Kindergarten and Year 1 participated in a public speaking event at Gunnedah Public School while 3/4D took on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Engineering) challenges.
Students had to work in groups and cooperatively design and build furniture for the classroom made entirely of paper. They then tested their design with dictionaries,with Violet Hoskinson, Josie Byrne and Olivia Gaynor-Howland's design holding 18 dictionaries.
Boggabri Pony Club had a busy time at its September rally day, which was the final rally day before the club’s annual week-long camp on September 30.
The rally day saw a large roll-up of keen and eager children who mounted their horses for an action-packed day. The children enjoyed games on their horses, sporting events, and troop drill, which dates back to the war and the light horseman. At the end of the day, they play a round of bareback musical chairs.
Seven students from Sacred Heart School participated in the Diocesan Athletics Trials in Tamworth in late August.
Special mention goes to Andrew Valks who came third in the 11-year boys shotput and the small schools relay team (PP5) – Molly Rees, Luke Grace-Hendrie, Cameron and Andrew Valks – who came second in their final.
Good luck to the four students who will be representing the Armidale Diocese at the Polding Athletics Trials to be held at Glendale on Friday.
