The funds will go to the Namoi Unlimited Joint Organisation (JO) and will be used to conduct a study tour in china for local producers and exporters.
JO chairman Jamie Chaffey said the funds would provide a vital experience for producers and exporters.
“Namoi Unlimited is extremely proud that we have been recognised by the Australia-China Council and will receive funding to support the development of our relationship between Ningbo, China and the Namoi region,” Cr Chaffey said.
“This grant means that we will be able to offer an experience of a life time to regional producers to learn and understand the potential of exporting, and particularly China.”

The funding announcement comes fresh off the back of a visit from a Chinese delegation during AgQuip last week.
“We are very proud of our relationship with our Chinese counterparts,” Cr Chaffey said.
“A lot of hard work has gone into building a strong, mutually beneficial relationship and it is pleasing to see the support come from the Australia-China Council.
“The support from the Australia-China Council will enable us to continue to promote bilateral relations and hopefully forge stronger links for the future.”
Cr Chaffey said an itinerary of events for the tour was currently being put together.
“At this stage Namoi Unlimited is planning a week long study tour for up to 12 producers and exporters into Shanghai, Ningbo and Guangzhou,” he said.
“We are forming an itinerary based on activities that will assist producers to learn more about the Chinese consumer, their trends and visit Ningbo, a market of potentially 7.6 million people.”
Any exporter or producer looking to be involved in the study tour is encouraged to contact Namoi Unlimted JO via email at info@namoiunlimited.nsw.gov.au
