The weather made things tough on the opening weekend before doubling down for the final round of the competition.
“The weather just got the better of most of the guys,” Gunnedah Golf Club professional Luke Ryan said.
“Those conditions are the most horrendous conditions I’ve seen out there. It was brutal all day long.”

Streater hit the second best score, a 79, on the final day of competition to claim the win with a total score of 296.
Troy Dries came closest to Streater as he finished on 307.
Ryan said Streater was best able to compete with the conditions.
“It just showcased Luke’s game in the wind,” Ryan said of Streater’s victory.
“His distance into the wind is long enough to get away with it while a few other guys had to play their way out of it.
“Troy, for example, has a high ball flight, which made it hard.”
In equal third position was Josh Ryan, who fought his way back from an opening round of 88 to win the colts section, and Shane Wilson, who had the lowest score on the final day with a 78.
Rounding out the top five was the “surprise packet of the championships” Stu Carter.
He shot 316 over four rounds and picked up the overall nett prize along with the President Trophy.
Rory Heath won division two while Dave Carter won division three.
In division four, Peter Hughes won his maiden championship while John Henry was the winner of the vets section and Max Brown took out the super vets.
Next on the agenda for the Gunnedah Golf Club is a drought relief charity day this Sunday.
It will be a shotgun start with an auction to be held afterwards. All are welcome with money raised going to Rotary Club of Gunnedah West.
