THE 48th annual Gunnedah Art and Ceramics Exhibition opened at the Creative Arts Centre on Friday night with a big crowd to view more than 300 entries.

The exhibition includes work from artists from areas including Gunnedah, Singleton, Tamworth, Narrabri and Coonamble.
Gunnedah mayor Jamie Chaffey opened the exhibition, which was presented by Arts Gunnedah. Art judge Peter Champion from Inverell announced the art winners. The ceramics judge was Elaine Abberfield.
Art grand champion was won by Noeline Millar from Norah Head for a painting titled Wash Pools Scone 2.
The exhibition continues until September 2.
