Locals can now choose to donate their 10 cent recycling refund from cans, bottles and juice boxes to the society at the Return and Earn vending machine at Woolworths Gunnedah.
“The show society is very excited to be one of the first donation partners for the NSW Government’s Return and Earn Scheme,” Gunnedah Show Society’s George Truman said.
“Funds raised through this partnership will support continued maintenance and up-grades at the showground, ensuring we can continue to host a range of essential community events throughout the year.”
A not-for-profit organisation, Mr Truman said the society is run by volunteers who are passionate about ensuring events such as the annual show, “continue to provide value for the community”. The society also runs the annual campdraft, AgQuip Rodeo, Country Music Muster, camping and boating show, the innovation and mining expo, and the Ladies Auxiliary Rose Show.
