Police allege the man then failed the road side breath test.
“The sample of breath the man provided returned with a positive reading for alcohol, at which time the man was arrested and accompanied police back to Gunnedah Police Station,” the spokesperson said.
“Once back at the station, the man gave a mid-range blood alcohol sample and was charged with mid-range drink driving and negligent driving.”
The 24-year-old will appear in Gunnedah Local Court on September 4.
