Gunnedah’s under 12s representative netball team have been improving every week and that was shown again on Sunday as the team – with the help of some under 13s players as well – combined to win at Tamworth Netball Association’s All Age Carnival.
Playing in division four, the 12/13s team went undefeated to take out the title.
Team manager Christy Barnes said the help of the under 13s players proved invaluable.

She also noted how far the 12s had come.
“They started playing together at the beginning of the this season. There was a couple that hadn’t ever played netball before,” Barnes said.
“They have improved immensely. All of them have.
“They’re a wonderful group of girls who get on really, really well.
“They’re all extremely encouraging toward one another.
“They’re all are enjoying playing netball together.”
The under 12s team also played at the National Primary Games in Tamworth in July where the side finished on top of their pool.
