Fence maintenance is always on a farmer’s mind.
Horsley Wholesale has been listening to the needs of farmers for almost 20 years as fencers and then as retailers.
It has launched Horsley Engineering to better develop tools and ideas proven to make many farmers’ jobs easier.
The tough challenges of digging holes for fence poles has inspired many tools and post drivers over the years.
Horsley Wholesale originally pioneered the idea of attaching a petrol motor to the traditional post driver, replacing traditional post driving methods that were cumbersome and dangerous.
The Petrol Post Driver has had immeasurable success in the market.
The father-and-son team of inventors, Sam and Jakob Quattromani, behind the Horsley Wholesale name, developed the post driver to beat all – the Boss Driver. It’s a Honda-powered four-stroke post digger for driving end assemblies of up to 100 millimetre nominal bore pipe.
Sam came up with the idea and started research and development a few years ago. And Jakob, then an apprentice machinist, did a lot of the machining on parts in-house.
“It takes it to a one-person operation,” Sam said.
Horsley’s commitment to innovation has tackled the constant issue of general fence repairs.
The Tight As Wire Strainer gives the ability to add additional strength into a fence at the same time as pulling any slack up out of the wire. It meets the challenge of barbed wire, old wire, new wire, soft, medium and high tensile wire.
Australian-owned and made, the Tight As Wire Strainer comes from a family business with roots embedded in fencing.
