Joined by Gunnedah mayor Jamie Chaffey, Mr Coulton will help turn the first sod of the Curlewis pipeline project.
The ceremony hosted by Gunnedah Shire Council, will mark the beginning of the $5.2 million project, which promises to improve water quality for the village.
The project will go ahead after TCM Civil Pty Ltd were awarded the contract to carry out works on the project.

The pipeline project will improve water quality, storage capacity and water security for the Curlewis community and will see a 15.8 kilometre pipeline installed from Wandobah Road, via Blackjack Forest Road, Booloocooroo and Preston roads to Curlewis.
Two 500 kilolitre concrete storage reservoirs and a disinfection dosing station will also be constructed.
Construction on the Curlewis Pipeline Project is expected to be completed in March 2019.
After the first sod is turned, Mr Coulton will then announce the launch of the NBN in Gunnedah with a ceremony at Brocks Court.
