Out of 77 public submissions made in response to Overland Sun Farming’s Environmental Impact Statement (EIS), only 10 were in support of the solar farm. The report attracted submissions from as far afield as Victoria, Tasmania and Sydney.
On behalf of Orange Grove Sun Farm, Overland Sun Farming is proposing a large-scale solar photovoltaic generation facility and associated building and electrical infrastructure including grid connection works on Orange Grove Road near Gunnedah.
The site is about 12km east of Gunnedah and encompasses an area of about 817 hectares, of which about 253 hectares would be developed.
The EIS went on public display from June 6 until July 5, with submissions then collated by the DPE.
