Publicity officer Jane Harris said the opening night drew 140 people and the art show saw more than 800 visitors over the three days. The “Art of Aircooled” vintage rally at the RSL Club had more than 1200 visitors.
Queen Street was transformed into a hub of creativity, with pop-up galleries and a lantern parade.
“Retailers experienced excellent trading and… The Commercial Hotel had a wonderful motorcycle ‘Show and Shine” and great live music,” Ms Harris said.
“Live music also livened up Queen Street on Sunday where Goldheist played and collaborator James Needham painted local scenes next to Laura Swan’s food van.
“The fireworks on Saturday evening were spectacular, dazzling onlookers and exceeding everyone’s expectations wildly. Children especially had a wonderful time, also enjoying the lantern parade leading to the fireworks and then running around with the lanterns they made on the RSL grounds before the display.”
The lanterns were made by primary school children at workshops and digital artworks were projected in them with the help of Regional Arts NSW and Tamworth Regional Council.
Ms Harris said the small but dedicated Frost team was thankful to the Tamworth council and all of the volunteers, artists, workshop tutors, teachers, students, businesses and community members who helped make it a success.
“Frost is a real community effort,” Ms Harris said.
