The Kamilaroi Highway between Gunnedah and Curlewis has re-opened following this afternoon’s fatal crash.
The highway was closed for several hours but emergency services have cleared the wreckage of the bike and wrapped up their investigations of the scene.
There are no delays for motorists.
Investigations into the crash are continuing.
A MAN has died following a motorbike crash on the Kamilaroi Highway, 8km south of Gunnedah on Wednesday.
Emergency services were called to the scene at 12.20pm after reports a motorcycle had crashed into a culvert.
The male motorcyclist died at the scene.
His age is not yet known, police said.
Police have established a crime scene and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
The Kamilaroi Highway remains closed in both directions with diversions in place.
Light vehicles are being advised to use Werris Creek Road and the Oxley Highway via Tamworth.
Heavy vehicles should use the New England Highway and the Oxley Highway via Tamworth.
Live Traffice NSW is urging motorists to avoid the area and allow extra travel time.
DRIVERS are being urged to avoid the Kamilaroi Highway south of Gunnedah, after a serious accident on Wednesday.

NSW Ambulance deployed two units to the scene, after reports of a crash between a motorbike and a car.
A spokesperson said they received a call for a man, aged in his twenties, with serious injuries.
Emergency services remain at the scene.
The highway has been closed in both directions with motorists being diverted, via Gunnedah.
Diversions are in place via Preston Road onto Wandobah Road for light vehicles only.
The road is expected to remain closed for several hours.
