Every year the much-loved member looked forward to the club’s annual trivia night and now her friends will play for the honour of having their team name inscribed on the Sue Ebbage Memorial Trivia Buff Extraordinaire Award.
After a fun night of brainstorming and searching for answers in teams of six, the results were posted, awards presented and photos taken before it was realised that the final scores had been added incorrectly. Much laughter ensued as the prizes were graciously handed over and photos retaken.
Incoming program officer Linda Lee received her badge from vice-president, Kate Knight, who also presented a badge and membership pack to new member, Pauline Grant, who joined the club last month.
At next month’s dinner meeting, guest speakers from CanAssist will talk about the work being done to support local cancer patients and their families. Competition donors are Coral Lorimer (lucky door), and Fran Dunn (raffle).
In September, the staff at Willow & Fli will present “Own It”, a little night of celebration, talking about each person’s own style and what makes them special.
Members are reminded of the day trip to Little Kickerbell, at Pine Ridge, on September 9. Members are welcome to bring a spouse or friend. Numbers and money will need to be finalised by the August dinner meeting.
New members are always welcome at Gunnedah Evening VIEW Club. The next meeting will be held at GSBC on Wednesday, August 1, at 6.30pm for 7pm. Apologies and names of guests must be with Kate Knight on 6742 3926 by the Monday night prior.
