Throughout the 2017/18 year, the Gunnedah Lions Club helped spearhead many community fundraising initiatives.
“Last year was a terrific year in terms of fundraising for our club,” Mr Adams said.
“Between the Lions Club and our Lions Ladies, we were able to distribute many thousands of dollars back into our community.
“Some of the bigger fundraising distributions for the year included, almost $20,000 to the Gunnedah Jockey Club, $1600 for North West Swap Inc and $2,000 for the Westpac Rescue Helicopter.
“Those funds were distributed by both groups and couldn’t have happened without the hard work of our members and we hope to continue that this year.”
The current president said new members were always welcome.
“We are always looking for new members so anyone interested is encouraged to reach out to us,” he said.
“Our monthly meetings are always a great place to start for perspective members and I would encourage anyone interested in joining us to contact myself or have a chat to any of our members.”
