Colourful bunting lined the path to the centre and paper flowers and tulle adorned the brick building. A table filled with sweet delights was frequented by those enjoying a morning out.
Dorothea Mackellar Poetry Awards officer Brittany Riley received a helping hand from her creative mother Cathy to put on the spread to raise funds for the Cancer Council.
“I wanted to raise funds and the weather’s been beautiful,” Ms Riley said.
“It helps get people up to the centre too.”
Ms Riley has been busy preparing for the entry cut-off for the national poetry competition on June 30.
