The NVI popped along on Wednesday to capture our kids on stage at the Civic Theatre, presenting poetry in many forms.
Costumes added an extra element of fun and there was plenty of expression and laughs as students brought their poems to life.
This year’s adjudicator for the speech, drama and public speaking section is Bron Lim from Sydney. Ms Lim has a background in professional theatre and runs her own drama studio and workshops for Sydney students.
“It’s an honour to be here and hear so many fantastic poems and see your enthusiasm,” Ms Lim told the participants on Wednesday.
“Well done to everyone. You all put in a lot of effort and it’s tough to get up here.”

There were a few case of forgotten words on Wednesday to which Ms Lim responded by telling the students to “not think about the people in front of you”.
“Do remember to follow the story line and if you follow your intention through, you’ll remember the words,” she told them.
She also reminded the participants in ‘Poems for Two’ to “work as a team” and to “put your own stamp to the poem”.
The Dance Eisteddfod will be held in September.
