Numbers were well down in a penning that saw large numbers of plain condition vealers penned. Cows were once again well represented. The quality and condition of the offering was very mixed, with some cattle showing no sign of the drought.

There were varying trends through the young cattle, with light and medium weight steer vealers to restockers showing little but breed and quality related price change. Heavy weight steer vealers suitable to feed sold to a dearer trend of 10c to 17c/kg.
Light and medium weight heifer vealers to restockers sold to cheaper trends of up to 12c/kg, however the light weights saw breed related price improvements. Medium and heavy weight yearling steers to feed saw a mostly firm market trend.
There was an isolated dearer sale for a breed specific pen of heavy weights. Good quality medium weight yearling heifers to feed sold to a dearer trend of up to 10c/kg.
Secondary and very plain quality heifers struggled to attract much interest.
There were no heavy grown steers suitable to processors.
Well finished grown heifers attracted stronger demand and sold to a dearer trend.
The plainest condition cows experienced strong price improvements with the extra restocker competition.
The better boner cows remained firm, while well finished cows sold to a cheaper trend of up to 11c/kg.
