The unoccupied Mullaley house went up in flames in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Rural Fire Service (RFS) crews from Mullaley and Tambar Springs were first called to the Black Stump Way property at 1.20am before being assisted by crews from Gunnedah Fire and Rescue.
Unfortunately despite the hard work of firefighters, the house could not be saved.
A RFS spokesperson told The Namoi Valley Independent crews were quick to arrive on the scene but there was little they could do to save the house.
“We had about seven team members from our Tambar Springs and Mullaley crews attend the scene,” the spokesperson said.
“The first of those two crews arrived at the property within five to 10 minutes but unfortunately it was already too late and the house was pretty much already burnt to the ground.
“Fire crews remained at the scene for another six or seven hours to ensure there were not hot-spots and the fire had been completely extinguished.”

Gunnedah Fire and Rescue Captain Dave Welch said his team was called to backup the RFS crews.
“We took a crew of four firefighters out to assist the RFS crews,” Captain Welch said.
“We were probably only at the scene for about a hour-or-so and that was to just assist in anyway we could.”
Investigations into the cause of the fire are continuing.
