The youngsters visited Gunnedah High School last week to get a helping hand. Childhood educator Jade Bartlett said the kids have been having music lessons with Julia Rennick from the Gunnedah Conservatorium and they felt they might need more instruments, so they had clapping sticks made.
The children drew decorations on the sticks and students from the high school, Shannon Hatcher and Ryan Bird, used woodwork tools to etch the patterns into the surface of the sticks.
While half of the pre-schoolers were in the woodwork room, the other children participated in games run by the Year 12 Early Childhood class. There were egg and spoon races, catching games, and ten-pin bowling.
