The boost comes in the form of a new partnership between LPSC and Service NSW through the Easy to do Business Program.
Acting as a business concierge service, the program will allow new and established business owners the chance to work with all three levels of government more easily and have their questions answered.
LPSC mayor Andrew Hope said the decision to join the program fits in with council’s economic development strategy.
“Cutting down on red tape is so important in encouraging and assisting small business to grow and prosper,” Cr Hope said.
“It’s amazing that Easy to do Business has reduced the time it takes to open a café, small bar or restaurant from up to 18 months to just 90 days or less.
“We are excited that other businesses like housing construction and retail will also benefit from this program soon.”

Cr Hope said the free of charge service could be accessed from anywhere, making it easy for regional residents to take part in the program.
“Council understands the difficulty, hurdles and red tape that people go through just to get a business up and running,” he said.
“The great thing about Easy to do Business is it’s not only free of charge, it also lives up to its name.
“For rural shires such as ours it is fantastic that our people can participate from home through one online portal and receive guidance and support on the requirements of all three tiers of government.
“Programs like Easy to do Business are a good fit with council’s economic development strategy and are designed to foster a thriving economy and create more local jobs.”
LPSC’s decision to join the program follows Gunnedah Shire Council’s decision to join the program at last week’s May council meeting.
