WITH Mothers Day 2018 just gone The Namoi Valley Independent is taking a look back at how the community celebrated the day in 2016.
Locals from around the Gunnedah region celebrated Mothers Day 2018 in a variety of ways and 2016 was no different.
It was a huge day of racing in Gunnedah in 2016, with eight races and plenty of mums and daughters with their fashion feet forward.

It was the prestigious Gunnedah Cup, an annual Mother's Day racing event that is a favourite with both locals and visitors from the region.
As well as the races - with the Cup successfully secured by Halfway to Heaven from the Bob Haire stable ridden by apprentice Kaylee Kirkwood - there was musical entertainment and activities for the kids.
