The A-Team and 14s Rep went head-to-head in the Gunnedah Netball Association 16 and under competition on Saturday with barely anything separating the two teams early on.

It all came down to the last quarter with The A-Team putting in a big all-round effort.
It saw The A-Team score a 28-17 win which was their first ever against 14s Rep, The A-Team coach Anne Torrens said.
“We always have a good tussle against the 14s rep team,” Torrens said.
“The score was close in the first three quarters with only one to two goals the difference.
“However, in the final quarter the defence of goalkeeper Sienna Miller gave us more ball which was converted into goals by our accurate goal shooter Annie Elphick and speedy goal attack Imogen Cameron.”
14s Rep coach Nicola Leane always expected a hard-fought match.
“We knew it would be a tough game. With a lot of new players welcomed this year we struggled to find our groove,” Leane said.
“We started strong however could not keep up with the 13s.”
Leane said a couple players had big games for her side.
“Maya Gallagher and Chloe Sumpter stood out,” Leane said.
“They really helped connect the attack and defence due to the inexperienced mid court.
“With more time playing together we hope to develop the mid court.”
In the other 16s and under games played on Saturday, the Strikers have a 36-4 win over 12s Rep while the Dream Team was on song in attack to score a 48-22 victory over The Opposition.
