Hosted by North West Local Land Services, the question and answer session allowed farmers to gain information about a variety of topics such as livestock health, government assistance and pastoral advice.
North West Local Land Services mixed farming extension officer, George Truman said the the organisation was always there to assist local farmers.
“It’s all about being here given it’s quite dry already and people are very busy,” Mr Truman said.
“Because of that we haven’t had a lot of producers here today but we have had quite a lot of agents coming along with the cattle sale going on and they were quite pleased to see us here.
“Quite often they are the first to deal one-on-one with some of the landholders and so it’s great for them to come over and have a bit of chat with us.
“I guess the main reason for us to be here today is to give producers a chance to have a chat with us face-to-face as that is often the easiest way to get any answers they need.”
Mr Truman said it was important to keep producers informed of any new assistance or programs that are on offer.
“I guess it’s early days and each little thing helps,” he said.
“It’s through talking to people and showing an interest in these information sessions and also the roadshow that we are doing that helps to demonstrate to the government that people are looking for more opportunities.”

Producers who missed the session can still access the information on offer through the organisation.
“So at our offices in Narrabri and Gunnedah we will still have our morning tea sessions from 10am-12pm every Thursday for people to drop into their local office and contact us,” Mr Truman said.
“Both offices have staff available all the time to talk to, and of course online through our drought hub website, which will refer them to any funding or incentives available to them.”
North West Local Land Services will next host their roadshow meetings in Boggabri and Spring Ridge on May 23.
