The company announced on Thursday that the report had been lodged with the Department of Planning and Environment, which deemed the statement to be suitable for public exhibition.
Photon Energy’s Nick Guzowski said the proposed solar farm would have major economic benefits for the Gunnedah region.
“Following community consultation, we have made adjustments to the proposed project and lodged the environmental impact statement for the department’s assessment and public exhibition,” Mr Guzowski said.
“If approved, this project will bring $200 million into Gunnedah during the 12-14 month expected construction period, which we hope to begin in early 2019.”

Mr Guzowski said if the project goes ahead, the company would look to hire as many local contractors as possible.
“New estimates indicate the solar farm will generate up to 150 jobs during construction and will support up to ten operational jobs,” he said.
“We will be looking for local contractors and employees wherever possible.”
The EIS will be on public display from April 27 to May 26.
