SOME of the region’s finest musicians took to the stage at the Railway Hotel on Sunday to honour the memory of local musician Stu McKenzie.

The event marked the third anniversary of the accident that claimed Stu’s life and severely injured other members of the former local band who performed at the event.
Event supporter Di Stacey told The Namoi Valley Independent the jamming session was “inspirational”.
“The whole event went super well,” Ms Stacey said.
“We had a good crowd attend, Good Corn Liquor rocked it and the Railway Hotel staff and owners were as wonderful as ever and helped us put on a great show.
“It was honestly inspiring to see so much talent on stage.”

Ms Stacey said the jamming session allowed fans and friends an opportunity to remember and honour Stu’s memory.
“So many people were pleased to be able to honour Stu in their own way,” she said.
“Every year we have held the event we have all become closer and closer like a big family.
“Honestly it is a beautiful way to honour someone who meant so much to so many.”
Ms Stacey said everyone who attended will take away fond memories from the event.
“So many people were up and dancing and enjoying themselves,” she said.
“The show had some of the areas best singers, and it was awesome to see them play, smile and have fun performing.
“Overall we had a huge crowd on a beautiful afternoon where everyone had fun and we look forward to next year.”
