The Awesome Sixties reunion, made up of a former friends and work mates growing up together in Gunnedah, is held every two years with the last gathering in 2016 at Lake Keepit.
Somerset Dam is about an hour out of Brisbane, in the Esk-Kilcoy, area and the reunion promises to be filled with lots of talking, laughter and sharing of memories and photos.
More than 60 old friends and workmates gathered at the last reunion, arriving in caravans and RVs with others flying in from Darwin or travelling in hire cars from NSW, Queensland and beyond.
The cabins were all booked out and the rotunda came alive at 4pm with everyone gathering for a catch-up during “happy hour”.
Reunion co-ordinators, Anne and Graham Coombs, now living at Bribie Island, have done a wonderful job getting people together over the years and they are keen to see even more old friends gather for a trip down memory lane.
