Elaine Kennedy and Christine Pease will have entries in The Land Cookery Competition and Jill Andrews will have entries in the handicraft section.
Mrs Kennedy’s steamed fruit pudding earned her the Win Nash memorial trophy at the Namoi Group conference on March 22.
The women were congratulated on their efforts at Gunnedah CWA’s April meeting.
This year, the state conference will be held at N.E.G.S in Armidale from April 29-May 4. There will be discussion and debating on a wide variety of agenda items as well as several guest speakers throughout the conference. There will be approximately 700 delegates attending the conference and manning the display areas.
The May meeting has been moved to May 10 because of the conference.
Emergency packs for babies have been packed and will be donated to Gunnedah District Hospital for use when needed. A donation was made to the CWA Disaster Relief Fund at state office to help the Tathra Fire victims. CWA of NSW recently donated $50,000 to this fire ravaged area.
Competitions for the May meeting will be for a flower and a favourite book. The agricultural and environmental topic for May is deer.
