AS the Gunnedah shire gets set to celebrate Anzac Day 2018, The Namoi Valley Independent is looking back on how locals celebrated the day back in 2016.
Locals of all ages gathered on the sunny day to remember the supreme sacrifices made by members of the Australian Defence Force in times of conflict.
Celebrations included the annual dawn service held at the Gunnedah cenotaph, the Anzac Day march along Conadilly Street followed by a mid-morning service and a two-up ring at the Gunnedah Services and Bowling Club.
Members of the Gunnedah community paid there respects at the respective services by laying wreaths to honour the fallen servicemen and women from the Gunnedah shire.
The Namoi Valley Independent will have rolling Anzac Day 2018 coverage throughout the shire.
