Rode to Rescue – a documentary on the beginnings of the Tamworth-based Westpac Rescue Helicopter – will be screened at the Forum 6 Cinemas in Tamworth.
Tamworth-based filmmaker Daniel Raffaele captured the 2017 Ride for the Chopper, detailing the stories of more than 75 riders and crew on the trek, and why they do what they do.

The feature-length film also paints the story on how the chopper came to take off in Tamworth in 2000 after a six-year push, spearheaded by Walcha farmer Hamish McLaren.
Mr Raffaele said he couldn’t pass up the opportunity to tell the story.
He followed the ride, using cameras on bikes, a drone and the back of a car to capture the gruelling ride and determination of those on the mammoth trek from Woolgoolga to Tamworth.
The documentary will screen at 8pm on Monday, tickets are $20 at the door and all proceeds got to the rescue service.
