Eligible groups can now apply for funds to undertake projects that will assist in training and encouraging volunteers, address safety concerns and promote participation.
Deputy Mayor Gae Swain said the program had been assisting community groups in Gunnedah for the last 10 years.
“I would encourage all of our local groups to look into this program and to take advantage of this once-a-year opportunity for funding for a worthy project or program,” Cr Swain said.
“The level of funding available under the program is dependent on the project, but it can be up to $5000, which is a fantastic financial lift for some of our smaller groups.”
