About 50 people turned out to see the works of photographer David Chappel, Boggabri Men’s Shed, and artists Tammey McAllan, Jade Punch, Lorraine Maddigan and Tamar Greatrix.
The exhibition was held in the Art Shed, which was established in late 2017 by Ms McAllan, the Men’s Shed and Jo Bell. It is the first collaborative exhibition to be launched at the shed.
“It was fantastic,” Ms McAllan said.
“It was such a great turn-out and a lot more locals than I thought too.
“It was nice to see the support of the local people.”

Local shop owner Wadette Shaw kept Hassab’s Fashion open late for the event, and the Commercial Hotel provided happy hour cocktails. Ms McAllan said it was a good community event.
“All the feedback was really good. I think people were excited it’s going to be a regular event [now],” she said.
“Wadette was really pleased with the evening and because it was successful, we might do a fashion parade next time.
“We might do a bit more to make it worthwhile for people to come out.”
Ms McAllan said both she and fellow artist Lorraine Maddigan sold two pieces of work. The event also helped to raise some funds for local Jo Bell who was recently diagnosed with Lyme’s Disease.
Ms McAllan will next exhibit her work in the Boggabri Arts and Craft exhibition at the “Old Garage” from April 24-29 during the Boggabri Drovers’ Campfire event. She has donated an art work to be raffled, with funds to go to the art and craft exhibition.
The exhibition will be open to the public from 9am-3pm daily and from 6pm-8pm on April 27. The Old Garage is on the corner of Wee Waa and Brent streets.
