The youth mental health service will host an event at Wolseley Park on March 16 to gain an understanding of youth issues in Gunnedah.
While at the event, headspace will look to seek feedback from the youth of Gunnedah regarding the issues they currently face.
headspace youth and community engagement officer Avril Oakley-Hollow said the event will be a chance for the youth in the Gunnedah community to have its say.
“The event is called catch-up with headspace and we will have free pizza and free games as well as an opportunity for the community to get to know us,” Ms Oakley-Hollow said.
“We are looking for members for our youth reference group, they make lots of decisions within headspace and shape how services are delivered.
“It’s voluntary and a real ability for anyone who has an interest to get involved.”

Ms Oakley-Hollow said the aim of the event was to collect data and feedback regarding youth issues in Gunnedah to help assist with early-intervention.
“Early-intervention is where it’s at,” she said.
“It’s more effective to assist young people initially rather than treating people who have been unwell for long periods of time.”
The community event will kick off at Wolseley Park from 4pm Friday March 16.
