Lions District governor John Davis took part in the clubs meeting as well as toured Gunnedah and visited many sites and projects supported by the club.
Gunnedah Lions Club president Nev Adams said the club enjoyed hosting Mr Davis.
“It has been terrific having our district governor vist,” Mr Adams said.
“The annual visit also saw the district governor’s wife lion Rosalie give a great talk on diabetes and include us in a raffle where all the proceeds will go to diabetes research.”
Mr Adams said the district governor enjoyed visiting some of the projects supported by the club.
“We went up to Mackeller Care to see the Lions community hall that Lions spent thousands of dollars helping to build,” he said.
“It has just been refurbished by Mackeller Care and really has been a wonderful project.”
Lions district governor John Davis told The Namoi Valley Independent he was very impressed with the work Gunnedah Lions Club is doing in the community.
“Involvement of Lions in the community is a priority across the district,” Mr Davis said.
“I have been very impressed by the repertoire of projects that Nev has shown me during my visit.”
Mr Davis was also on-hand to help Gunnedah Lions Club induct Des O’Callaghan as a new member.
“It’s always great to welcome new members,” he said.
“I am helping to induct a new member tonight but I believe Gunnedah has a few new members ready to join in the near future as well.”

Mr Adams said that Gunnedah Lions Club is always looking for more members.
“We are very pleased to welcome Des into the club tonight and in the coming weeks some other members as well,” Mr Adams said.
“However, we are always welcoming of new male and female members of any age.
“In particular we are looking to encourage younger members to join us and get involved in their community.”
Gunnedah Lions Club will next turn its attention to hosting the district finals of the Lions Club Youth of the Year final on March 24 before planning for the clubs 65th anniversary celebrations.
“The regional finals are coming up in Wee Waa on March 11 and our local girl Haylee Murrell is a really good chance of winning,” Mr Adams said.
“If she is successful it will be great to have a Gunnedah local compete in the district final, we are really looking forward to hosting it regardless but it will be great if she gets through.”
