Police are warning locals to secure their homes and cars following a spate of thefts.
It comes after two vehicles were stolen in one night in Gunnedah, last week.
Both of the stolen cars have been recovered by police. The first was found by officers in Curlewis while another was recovered in the Namoi River in Gunnedah after being dumped by the offenders.
Gunnedah Sergeant Mark Benson said investigations into the thefts are continuing.
“In regards to the car recovered in Curlewis, we have people helping with our inquiries,” Sergeant Benson said.
“Investigations into the other incidents are still on- going.”

Sergeant Benson urged locals to take “preventative measures” to ensure they don’t become victims.
“I strongly recommend that people keep everything locked, their house, their car, everything,” he said.
“It’s something everyone can do to help themselves, in every recent theft case the cars were left unlocked and with the keys in the ignition which makes it easy for potential thieves.”
