Plans are in full swing for April 13-15, with all convenors securing sponsorship and preparing schedules.
A highlight this year will be a new pavilion housing an exhibition showcasing 130 years of the Gunnedah Show. This will be hosted by the Gunnedah and District Historical Society in a building adjacent to the Art and Photography Pavilion.
“We are very excited that Bob Leister and Marie Hobson from the historical society have offered to take this on,” Show Society’s George Truman said.
“One hundred and thirty years is a major feat with many families in Gunnedah and surrounds participating and sharing experiences of the Gunnedah Show over this period.
“This is a great opportunity to showcase some of these experiences and moments and we are asking people to consider sharing some of this memorabilia for this exhibition and display.
“Old photos, trophies, ribbons, certificates or collectables that have been collected over the years – we are asking people if you would like to lend to the show society some of these items to display at this year’s show.”
An enormous effort is being put into this year’s show with many new events including the Isuzu D’Max Precision Driving Team, Model Aircraft Aerial Display, Sheep Dog Demonstration in the main arena, Boutique Markets, Just Dance display and much more, along with all your favourites – the animal nursery, rodeo, Troppo Magician, lolly drop and grand parade, art and photography competition, trots and much more.
