They have come with fresh faces, new books and packed lunchboxes and are trying to navigate new halls, new classrooms and new friendships.
At St Mary’s College, 67 students started Year 7 on Monday. This week they have been divided into roll call groups and are getting to know their timetables and new classmates.
Year 7 supervisor Karen Mooney said they have settled in well.
“They’re learning the ropes and have had a taste of most classes,” she said.
“It’s similar to their orientation day.”
At Gunnedah High School, 102 students started Year 7 this week.
