The association will continue to provide hot and frozen meals over the festive days with the help of Gunnedah Parkview Hotel’s Greg Thomas.

MOW president Colleen Fuller said it was important to ensure all their clients had a meal on Christmas Day and Boxing Day, and she was grateful to Mr Thomas for giving up his time.

“My family will be there on Christmas Day,” she said.

“My family will make sure everyone will have a meal on Christmas Day.”

Ahead of Christmas, the MOW team is busy delivering mini Christmas hampers to its 60 clients. Rotary 2380 and Gunnedah Show Society Campdraft Club have contributed $500 each towards the cost of the hampers.

Mrs Fuller said the “balance” was being put aside in a special fund so the organisation can supply meals for cancer patients.

MOW is also vigilant about helping its clients stay hydrated. With each meal delivery, clients are receiving a cold bottle of water.

Mrs Fuller said the cost of supplying water to the clients each day is $10, with the Parkview, Barber’s Way and Gunnedah Shire Council contributing towards the cost.
