Students, parents and teachers gathered to celebrate the passing school year and to recognise the hard work put in by the students.
In her speech, school principal Christine Patison said the awards celebration are part of what makes the school community so “wonderful”.
"I am always amazed by how much we can acknowledge and applaud in these almost two hours,” Ms Pattison said.
“The awards, presentations and performances represent much of what makes Mullaley Public School such a wonderful place to be.”
Ms Patison said the awards also provide an opportunity to thank everyone at the school for their efforts, and not just reward individual efforts.
“It is this shared sense of excitement and enthusiasm for all or most of what we do, each and every day that is more important than any one prize or trophy on any one day,” she said.
“Every student, every staff member, every parent, every grandparent and every community member… contribute every day to our success as a school and I thank each and every one of you for that.”
At the event, Ms Patison announced that she will be pursuing another job opportunity in 2018 but not before thanking the Mullaley Public School staff and P&C.
“Next year, I have accepted a learning and support role at Gunnedah High School and I am looking forward to this very much,” she said.
“To the staff this year, thank you so much for your commitment and work with the students.
“Many doors of opportunity have been opened not only in the classroom, but on the sporting field and in the performing arts, as a result of your dedication and determination to make a difference to the lives of the students in your care.
"I have been extremely privileged to work with such a dedicated team.”
“To the P&C, I say a huge thank you for your support of the staff and students this year,” she said.
“It’s been great to work in partnership with you, for the students and your achievements have been many this year.
“My time here, has been nothing less than an absolute privilege.”
