“I’ve grown so much a as player and learnt so many different skills,” Gallagher said of her time in the NIAS squad.
“Learning the different ways to defend, learning how to train better and just how to get better in general.
“I’m finding new things I can improve on all the time.”
Gallagher will be joined in the NIAS squad by fellow Gunnedah Netball Association players Holli Rodstrom and Sophie Williams.
The duo haven’t been a part of the squad for as long as Gallagher who said they’ll learn a whole lot from the experience.
“They’ll grow both on and off the court,” Gallagher said.
“They’ve got lots of experienced people who'll help them out and they’ll make new friendships as well.”
The NIAS netball program started on Sunday in Gunnedah.
The session at Gunnedah Crossfit gave the players a chance to get together and discuss the upcoming season before the squad gets serious in February next year.
“It went really, really good,” Gallagher said of the session.
“There was a lot of new faces, we got to know each other and we’re starting to develop bonds.”
The three netballers weren’t the only Gunnedah girls to make the NIAS squad with Chloe Perkins also being selected.
