Courtney Whitton proved she’s one to watch by gaining selection into the Northern Inland Academy of Sport (NIAS) AFL Youth Girls Squad.

Whitton impressed with her skills and commitment to the sport.

Despite hailing from Gunnedah – where there was no women’s AFL team in 2017 – Whitton has persisted with her chosen sport.

Whitton travelled far and wide this season to play with the Inverell Saints who went on to win the inaugural women’s premiership in the North West.

Whitton will develop her fitness and skills over the next six months with the NIAS program.
